Update 0.0.20


I made a bunch of modifications after the feedback from the festival on Saturday. It’s also the first patch note I’m making here, I should do that more often, especially when there are a lot of changes!

I made a bunch of modifications after the feedback from the festival on Saturday. It was the Sorbonne Game festival and I enjoyed it a lot. People were really excited about Hyperslice and it motivated me to work on it again.

:rocket: Additions

  • Ability to skip tutorial
  • Vignette and particles effect when ultimate is full
  • Quick retry button on death screen to skip tutorial and ship select and start with the previously selected ship
  • Short invincibility duration after dash
  • Enemy spawn sound
  • Gem orbs spawning randomly during the run. They give 5 gems when sliced
  • Audio clue when dasher is about to dash
  • Indicators for off-camera enemies

:wrench: Modifications

  • Remove slow down time button in exported builds
  • Use icons in text tutorial
  • 100% chance of spawning a gembox before the first shop
  • Hitboxes for obstacles and enemies are much bigger when pushed to hit others obstacles and enemies more easily
  • Dash slice and push are differentiated visually and auditory
  • Gembox is now pushable
  • Upgrade scene can be excited without taking any
  • Animate disappearance of tutorial’s content when finished

:bug: Bug fixes

  • Can’t buy upgrades if gem amount is strictly equal to the required one
  • Start portal can be pushed into oblivion
  • Laser enemy deals damage when spawning
  • Dasher still show dash line when sliced
